You
will hear recorded examples of practice that builds chops but sometimes
they just sound awful. No Pain-No Gain at least for your ears:)
Do not be alarmed - yes I can play - and you will play too:)
What
I am teaching here is how to get maximum results by building from the
ground up. Then when you are developing your technique and finesse, and
practicing etudes, transposing and the developing a vocabulary of style
etc.
YOU will still be building and conditioning your chops and
air. Those who build chops through etudes and written exercises only
scratch the surface of potential.
When you divide practice into 3 elements
1. Chop building 2. Technical studies: / flexibility / tonguing / tone development etc. 3. Repertoire
You will become a well rounded player with great power and endurance.
Remember: CHOP BUILDING- "IT'S NOT HOW IT SOUNDS- IT'S WHAT IT IS DOING"
